This inspection includes visually examining the hull for any visible damages, cracks, or deformities. The surveyor may also use non-destructive testing methods, such as ultrasonic thickness gauging, the survey may also encompass other underwater inspection activities. For example, it may include assessing the condition of propellers, sea chests, sea valves, anodes, and other submerged equipment or components. The surveyor will inspect these elements for any signs of damage, fouling, or corrosion that could affect the vessel’s performance or safety.
